Target Pantry Deals Cheap Barilla Pasta

I can't believe I almost missed this deal, my stockpile price for pasta is $.50 but because Coupons have not been cooperating this past year for some reason, NYC has not been getting the coupons for El Paso and Barilla like other parts of this country.  So this deal is pretty sweet.

You buy 10 of the participating products all stuff with great shelf life and get a $5 gift card from target.

So total would be $11.90 and get $5 Gift Card, making total effectively $6.90 for what ever combo of products you buy.  I'm highlighting this deal because it includes Whole Grain Pasta which is usually harder to get on sale.

For those of you new to couponing and frugality this is a great newbie deal because its NO COUPONS required.  And a key way to reduce the cost of your Grocerie's is to buy things you would normally eat at LOW prices and $.69 each is a pretty great price and stockpile them probably the best I've seen in the past year considering coupons have been sparse.  Plus the cheap price for these ingredients, would make certain meals even cheaper for you to make and allow you to create your own LOW COST meals.

Hint hint: One box of Pasta and Jar of Sauce, for total of $1.38, you can easily make at least 4 huge servings of pasta meals.  Making each meal $.35 each!!!! And even if you add cheese and meat you could still keep each meal under $1!!!

Target Price Cut Alert Campbell's Cream of Mushroom and Chicken Soup

Exciting Target Price Temporary Price Cut alert from krazycouponlady.com, they saw Campbells Cream of Chicken and Mushroom Soup at $.59 EACH!!!! If you don't coupon this is a MUST get deal!!! I'd been eyeing these soups for a year since and this beats the Thanksgiving prices.  I haven't seen it price this low in a while.  So personally, I would stockpile at least a 6 month supply since the expiration on these is very long.  But mainly because this is my staple ingredient for some of my favorite Low Cost meals Tuna Casserole and Rice Casserole.  Both great for batch cooking!

If you have a printer go print the above coupon as well to get your self free Swanson broth.  Which also is under price cut for $.50, ALSO a great price for chicken broth!  Perfect for a sick day quick soup especially with flu mania going around.

**UPDATE I went and NYC has it for $.89 and $.59... still a good sale but not as exciting as what other states are getting.

On the plus side... check your clearance aisle... Certain Pantene Shampoo were on clearance for $2.12, if you have your P&G coupons for $3 off 2, you can get 2 shampoo's for $.62 each!!!!!  I also got PUFF box tissues for $.36 each!!!! 

How much does a dry ONE pound bag of Black Beans yield?

I've always wanted to know but have been to lazy to answer this question.  I've really become obsessed with adding Black Beans into my meals.  One reason is I can not stress enough how healthy black beans are! The other is Target still has a ONE pound bag of dry black beans at $.76 !!!!  Which is the cheapest you'll find anywhere in NYC!!!!

So I finally decided to find out how much a bag yields to figure out if it would ever be worth it to buy the canned beans.  So I first soaked them overnight in water.

Then cooked them in boiling water for an hour.

This is just another reason why I love my LockNLock containers, I have one that is exactly 16 oz aka 1 lb so that I can easily measure the beans.

So the answer is ONE lb dry bag of Black Beans yields about 3.33 lb of actual cooked beans!!!!!  Or about $.23/ lb if you buy yours at Target while they have there Black Beans priced so low!!!!

Floppy Straw Hat best deal

Judging by the amount of floppy sunhats that SHOPBOP is selling at ridiculously overpriced ranges I'm guessing this may be the new trend.  Or their attempt to start a new trend to get people to buy one as practically everyone has a fedora these days and the one on sale at Target is actually superior to a lot of the more expensive ones out there.  I just had to try the fit, I didn't buy it though.

Anyways, I need a really superior sun hat for my trip to sunny Barbados because I don't tan my face ever.  I have fedoras, cowboy hats but they never fully cover my face for easy tanning.  And hence why I was looking into this huge floppy sun hat.  And the best deal I found really surprising is at Target.  If you go to there dollar corner, they have a plain floppy sunhat in natural, white and hot pink for $2.50!!!!!!!!!  If you want to make it nicer you can add your own ribbon or scarf on top.  I haven't bought it yet, because I'm not suppose to really shop but I think I might cave in because it really covers alot more than my other hats.

Target Space Bags on Sale

First time, I'm posting just to give props to target styling.  I really love how they mix all the color !!

Back to why I was posting, Space Bags are on sale at Target this week.  If you've never tried them they have 3 Large Bags on Sale for $9.99.  Which I think is over $3.33 per bag not counting taxes.

I'd personally would skip this sale and just buy a value set from Amazon like below you get some Jumbo Cube Bags (way more expensive) and 4 large bags are included and it costs $31.90. Making each bag alittle over $2.  You can use your Amazon bucks from Swagbucks as well to reduce your cost.

I checked my Pathmark and Waldbaums ad's and their Thanksgiving sales are not so great.  Surprisingly, Target has the equivalent or slightly better deals for most of the mandatory ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner.  Although Waldbaum's does have cheapest generic frozen turkey at $.49/lb.

I was at Target today and just randomly glancing at the beans and they had the dry 1lb bag marked to $.76!!!!!!!! I would totally grab some this is lowest price ever, I was just at Pathmark and they were $1.79.

I'm totally going to make me some Tomato Veggie Black Bean Soup yummo!

The Kashi Sale at Target

Remember when I was posting about printing all those Kashi Coupons in advance for a great deal ??  Well the deal has arrived!!!!!!

$2.99 is a good sale price for Kashi and the sweetner is the Free item when you buy 5.  If your a regular Recycle Bank user and you regularly get two $2 off coupons a month you might not even need to do this deal since you can get your stuff for about $1 each when you can find this sale price.  But those of you addicted to Kashi and not really interested in putting the time or effort in for Recycle Bank this is a great deal for building your stockpile.

Target Runs motivated by P & G Coupon Expiration Dates

Sometimes, deals just pop up and coupons you didn't think you were going to use become HOT.  This especially happens with P&G coupons which expire typically at the end of the month.  Retailers usually try to time their sales from when the coupons expire but there's typically a small window where you can take advantage of deals.

This time it was Target and P&G's Oral B $1 off coupon.  My local Target just started stocking a newer lower priced Oral B Essence Dental Floss for $1.02 which made this an almost freebie for dental floss! An absolute essential for good oral hygiene and I believe non perishable.  A perfect thing to stockpile!  Because P&G coupons, typically have a 4 like coupon limit, I had to break my transactions up.

Transaction 1: Whole Wheat Bread  on sale for $2.69 , Reach Dental Floss, 4 Oral B Dental Floss

If you have being taking my advice on Recycle Bank; you can definately stack up your MFC coupon with one of the Target Kashi coupons.  I'd wait for a sale to get something for super cheap or free.

The Bugles are on my list because Smartsource has a coupon which I can stack with this Target coupon.

 Nature Made and Nivea are coupon insert regulars, so printing the coupon now is a good idea.  Mostly because when a deal becomes hot, Target coupons go like lightening.

Whoo Hoo! Target has a $1 off coupon as well, print out two per computer from their website and save for a   possible upcoming deal or use your MFC coupon and this coupon for combined savings.

I also checked in store and at the NYC store its $2.45 for the Bar soap, $21.49 for the Retin SA Undereye Cream, and $23.99 for the Microdermabrasion kit.

More Kashi Coupons

Whoo hoo!  Coupons.com just added some Kashi Coupons! Which as you all know from my previous posts is not a regular thing with Kashi.  So go print two per computer now (you push the back back after your first print) !!! I would totally save them for a Target Sale, sometimes Target will have their own Kashi coupons and then you can combine them for an even better deal!

I personally rather than printing them from Coupons.com go print from the Coupons link on Swagbucks, so that I get 10 swagbucks for each coupon I redeem and to support Swagbucks.

It's so easy to go overboard at Target

So I'm doing my Bi-monthly finances and it hit me that I spent $35.91 at Target this past period.  Yikes, its not a huge amount of money but every penny does add up.  So wow, I had better start controlling myself at Target.  Not to say I didn't score a great deal.  Mostly what brought this total up was the Adult Men's Stuff, I got.  Which was at a good sale price but still I've never spent this much OPP since I've started couponing.

I got all the below for $35.91

So its not that bad, but with better planning, I should have been able to bring my OPP down to at least $30.91.  None the less I got my weekend haul without a penny spent OPP and I still have about $7.91 in Gift Card left. My tip for any Frugal shopping Trip is be either well planned or prepared.


So my goal for Target, is to stretch that left over balance to the MAX.  Plus, I'm good for socks and undies for at least a year :)

Sunday Couponing

I still had my $5 gift card from Target from the Hanes deal last week. So key thing about Gift Cards from sales is not to waste it on things you normally wouldn't buy and to spend it on good deals that ways it matches your cash closely dollar for dollar.

This is what I got on my trip:

I'd never bought milk before at Target but hey its pretty darn the lowest price I've seen in Flushing.  All the cheapest Asian Marts and Rite Aid have it for $2.29 for a half gallon. At Target a Gallon milk was $3.09!

Then I went back to the SkyFood SuperMarket.  And here's what I got:

Banana's at $.39/lb!!!!!! That's $.20 less per lb than the other Asian Markets.

So I grabbed a bag of 6 bananas and paid $1.11

Total Spent OPP for all the above: $1.11

One of the reasons, I posted this deal is because unless you've been living under a rock this debt ceiling news has really made me stop and think. We've all seen our salaries shrink and the cost of everyday staples rise.  I'm scared to think of hyperinflation which would allow each current USD you have buy even less.  Since I can't do the typical Rich People strategies to an effective scale, I am turning back to STOCKPILING.  While most foods and even health products are some what perishable and take up a lot of space.  Underwear and Socks, are small to store and absolute necessities you really can't live without.  So if I ever have to face a reality where underwear suddenly becomes $20 a pack, I'll just turn to my existing stock pile to replenish.

Bonus Tip:  I'm short and around size 4-6 so I can actually get away with gettting the size 14 in Girls underwear.  Its a lot cheaper than buying the size small in Womens.
