Falafel Cabbage Ramen

I'm always trying to find creative ways to make use of my leftovers.  And this one was because I had some OA Falafeels left over.  Basically, I just cooked my ramen as usual and then dumped in my leftovers.  It came out great the Falafel non fried of course, gave the soup an extra texture and spice level.  Of course since Ramen is so high in sodium I never add more salt, this makes me feel less guilty when eating ramen.

Since my ramen cost $.16 and the OA was a freegan find, my entire meal cost me $.16!

Ramen Noodles with Freegan Veggie Haul

Tip for Ramen Lover's I always have frozen duck on hand and its usually the boniest pieces.  It always adds extra flavor to your Ramen.  You only need 2-3 pieces.  I am posting this because the veggie on hand this time was the huge amount of Brocoli Rabe I got from my prior freegan haul.  Of course I cleaned it and even blanched it to be extra cautious.  I just wanted to demonstrate common ways to incorporate Freegan finds into your regular meals. So yummi and cheap.

It's crazy but even the price of RAMEN noodles have has gone noticeably up in just the past couple of months.  It used to be the best deal would be buying a 6 pk of Nissin Top Ramen at Rite Aid on sale for a $1 a pack.  But in the last few months, the best deal I've seen is the one ending today at Rite Aid where if you buy 4 for $5.  Or pay $1.29 if you don't want to buy 4 big packages.  

Now $.25 may not seem much to most people but if you consider we're talking about the fact the base price is from $1, that's a 25% increase in less then 6 months!!!  If you love ramen, I'd suggest you go stock up now.
